Hmmmm…what’s the best exercise? Any guesses? Running? Weight lifting?
There are so many I can’t list them all, and I won’t
waste my time even trying.
Any form of movement for any length of time is effective…as long as you do it! (At the bottom, I’ve linked a podcast answering this question.)
It is that simple. You’re welcome. I don’t care what you are up and doing really. Anything is better than nothing!
The most effective form of exercise is the one YOU enjoy doing and will actually do.
Walking is a good place to start. The only equipment one needs is a comfortable pair of shoes. Walking helps you do more for longer. The old saying “Use it or lose it” comes to mind. The more you walk the longer you will be able to walk! Personally, I want to live as long as possible and still be able to get up and walk to a toilet! At age 80, I can’t picture myself lifting weights, riding a bike, or running a 5k. I do want to be able to get up and walk around; especially to the bathroom. Long after other strenuous abilities are unrealistic, walking is still a very real need.
